Computer Refurbishment

Some of the computers that come into our e-waste and recycling program are sent to the group's 'tech department.' There, participants and staff use their computer savvy to refurbish machines for the in-house computer lab, and to sell or donate to other organizations.

This work is not for the high-tech faint of heart. Participants sometimes dismantle very old computers and dig deep to get a machine running again. And once that computer starts to hum, a real sense of achievement shows.
